Reflecting on resolutions

I’m not one for resolutions. I try to be the best version of myself every day because let’s face it, tomorrow isn’t a guarantee.

While I was out shopping a few days ago, I overheard some young women preparing for their New Year’s Eve night out and it made me smile. I couldn’t help but reflect on how differently we looked at the upcoming holiday. It made me pause and think about what life was like for me back in 1989 when I was 21 years old and how life is for me now at 48 years of age.

Outside of these obvious changes in the way I think, I am committed to continuing to practice the mantras I have found useful in my day to day living.

Like…

What I have is what someone else wants

So be grateful for all of it. All of it.

Forgive

Forgive everyone, even the fuckfaces. Especially the fuckfaces.

Forgive myself

Forgive myself. I’m human. I make mistakes. I probably should start by not calling anyone a fuckface.

Give more

There is an infinite amount of love in the world and I am blessed with a massive capacity to love. Eventually, I believe, this love will outweigh the hate. I believe it.

I wish you and your loved ones a blessed New Year’s of gratitude, peace, love and always paying it forward.
